Recently, in the article Dog Mattress Bed Reviews For All Dog Owners, we have introduced a new dog bed to our readers: the Casper dog bed. Since then, there have been rave reviews going on about this particular dog bed. In this article, we aim to dig a little deeper and find out the exact reason why this simple dog bed by Casper can make so many waves online.

Do you know that dogs really do sleep a lot? Take my dog for example. She sleeps at least half the time away, and usually on her dog bed. So it is really important that we provide to them a comfortable bed to sleep in, just as we would purchase a quality bed for us to rest in. Hence, the comfort of the Casper dog bed is really important to us. This is even so if your dog is old and requires added comfort. Hence, we do take the dog’s comfort seriously.
As mentioned, Casper has brought its technology to design quality dog beds, and we were amazed at how comfortable a dog bed could be. The fillings of the dog bed have two different types of foam in it. The top layer is the pressure-relieving memory foam that helps to contour to the dog’s body shape. The lower layer is the support foam that helps to provides the base, so that the memory foam will not collapse. The combination of foam results in a sturdy and pressure relieving dog bed that will is extremely comfortable to sleep in. We did try it ourselves!
Also, the shape of the dog bed ensures that there is an elevated bolster at the perimeter of the dog bed itself. This is good, as we know that dogs actually love to sleep in elevated positions. I have no idea why, but my dog loves to do that too. She could sleep on my sofa, but with her head rest on the armrest. Needless to say, when I got a Casper dog bed for her to try on, she immediately curled up and rested her head on the bolster.
Durability
The reason why owners will want to purchase indestructible dog beds is that dogs have the tendency to destroy beds. That itself has pushed Casper to ensure that the durability of their dog beds to be of the highest durability ever. True enough, dogs will find it impossible to chew through this bed, and this is because of the cover itself. The removable cover is made with microfibers that are tightly bonded together to ensure that the bed can last for years. As a comparison, the material is commonly used in footwear that is specifically designed for performance. In both cases, the material used can withstand years of usage!
Ease Of Cleaning
When it comes to ease of cleaning, this is where things are pretty similar. This goes the same for the Casper dog bed too. You can easily remove the cover and toss it into the machine for a quick wash. Also, to prevent impurities to enter into the foam bedding, the microfibers on the cover are so tightly bonded, that it will be impossible for any impurities to penetrate.
Having said that, while it is stated in the Casper website that the cover is waterproof, this is not entirely true. During one of our testing process, we poured some water over the cover, and indeed some of the water did seep through. Perhaps the cover itself is resistant to your dog’s saliva but not resistant to having spillages over it.
Aesthetics
While this dog bed might look pretty simple, it is the simplistic design that attracted us to it. Coming in three different sizes and three different colors, there is surely a color and a size that will fit your dog.
The pastel colors are unique enough, and the rectangular design is just nice as it has the right corners and shape to fit my dog’s body.
Assembly
When you purchase this from Amazon or directly from Casper, it does come in six different parts hence requiring some minor assembly. Not to worry as you wouldn’t need to use any tool to assemble this bed up.
The six parts are the main mattress, four side bolsters as well as the removable cover. All you got to do, is to insert the bolsters and the mattress into the zippers, and all is done. In all honesty, I think my child can assemble without a problem too.
